Benefits :
Healthy Digestion :

Whole soursop contains about 83% of the RDA for fiber, which is an essential nutrient for digestive health. Fiber helps maintain regularity and prevents digestive problems like constipation.

Potential Anti-Cancer Effects :

While most research is limited to test-tube research, soursop may be beneficial in fighting and preventing cancer. One study found that soursop extract was able to shrink breast cancer tumors and kill cancer cells. A second study showed that the extract could stop the formation of leukemic cells.

Fights Inflammation :
Antioxidants fight free radicals to reduce cellular damage caused by oxidative stress. One of the side effects of oxidative stress is inflammation. Hence, the antioxidants in sour cream can help reduce inflammation in the body.

Stabilize Blood Pressure :
High blood pressure can lead to serious problems such as heart disease and heart attack. One of the factors contributing to high blood pressure is sodium intake. Potassium helps the body get rid of sodium and reduces stress in blood vessel walls, helping to lower blood pressure. A whole sour cream apple provides between one third and one half of the recommended daily intake of potassium.

Fight Bacteria :
Sour cream can be antibacterial. One study found that the extract can kill many different types of bacteria, including strains that cause gum disease and tooth decay. Another study found that soursop extracts help fight cholera and staphylococcus bacteria. The results of in vitro studies are promising and more research is needed.
